A motorcyclist was killed after sustaining serious injuries in a motorcycle accident when his bike crashed with a truck on a windy road.

The accident occurred at approximately 11a.m. on Wednesday morning..

According to California Highway Patrol, the 38-year-old man, was traveling eastbound around a corner at an unsafe speed and lost control of the bike. He then slid into a flat bed truck that was traveling the opposite direction. The impact of the crash knocked him off his motorcycle.

Officials warn this is just another reminder that regardless of speed, the turns can be deadly. Although he had his helmet on at the time of the crash, he suffered serious injury. He was transported by helicopter to Kerns Medical Center where he died.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident.
