A 45-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident when he was ejected from his motorcycle on Highway 246, late Friday afternoon.

The driver, driving a Yamaha Venture motorcycle, was speeding east just before 6pm when he went lost control of the bike, said California Highway Patrol. The man was ejected and reported as being unconscious in the middle of the road. A report by CHP says the driver was seen riding as fast as 100 mph, and also indicates he was not wearing a helmet.

Sadly, this is one of three traffic related fatalities that occurred on Friday in Santa Barbara, California.
