In an air pollution case on behalf of 94 Ohio residents suffering health problems from sulfuric acid plumes, the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice (TLPJ) forced the American Electric Power Company into a settlement to reduce toxic sulfuric acid emissions from Ohio's largest power plant, the coal-fired Gavin Power Plant in Cheshire, Ohio. The Gavin Power Plant became infamous in 2002 when American Electric Power Co. bought out the entire town of Cheshire for $20 million when faced with the possibility of lawsuits from

local residents harmed by the plant's toxic emissions. My sincerest congratulations to TLPJ for their work in this case on behalf of the people of Ohio.

TLPJ is national public interest law firm dedicated to using trial lawyers' resources and skills to create a more just society. TLPJ is the principal project of The TLPJ Foundation, a not-for-profit membership organization supported by a nationwide network of over 3,500 personal injury and consumer lawyers, litigators of all types, consumer advocates and class action specialists. We are proud to be counted among its supporters and advocates.
