Milwaukee Power Tool Battery Packs Recalled

Milwaukee Power Tool is recalling approximately one million battery packs because the batteries can explode. If the vent on the battery cell is damaged prior to or during use, the battery can explode, posing a laceration hazard.

35 incidents, have been reported to Milwaukee Electric Tool Co. The reported injuries include - hearing loss and minor cuts and bruises. 11 of the 35 reported injuries included the battery packs exploding during use.

The recalled batteries are used to power saws, flashlights, drills, radios and other such tools.

Included in the recall are: Milwaukee Power Plus, Chicago Pneumatic, and Extractor 14.4 and 18 volt 2.4 Ah NiCd battery packs. Batteries manufactured after February 2004 are not affected by the recall.

Consumers should immediately stop using battery packs and contact Milwaukee Electric Tool for a free battery pack replacement.
