Listerine Agent Cool Blue Plaque - Detecting Rinse has been recalled by Johnson & Johnson, after the company concluded the preservative in the product did not effectively control specific micro-organisms.

McNeil-PPC, a division of Johnson & Johnson, has recalled approximately four million bottles, which comes in Glacier Mint and Bubble Blast flavors.

The company conducted a thorough assessment and concluded that the risk of illness in healthy individuals following use of this product is very low," J&J said in a release. It said no consumers had reported adverse health events due to use of the rinse.

Johnson & Johnson said the product can pose "a significant health risk to those people that may have weakened or suppressed immune systems."
