Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident

A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a hit-and-run pedestrian accident. The driver was allegedly driving while under the influence and then fleeing the scene of the accident, according to California Highway Patrol.

The driver, whose license is issued from Colorado, faces charges that include gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI, according to a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman.

The victim of the hit-and-run pedestrian accident was a 33-year-old woman. She was killed when struck by the drivers Acura Integra. The driver was on the 4200 block of Wembereley Drive when his vehicl hit a woman that was taking her baby out of the car, hit four other vehicles and finally striking the woman.

The woman that was taking her baby from the car was taken to UC Davic Medical center where she was treated for a broken ankle. Her baby was not injured in the accident. The other woman was knocked onto the hood of a car and into a windshield. The driver was not injured in the crash.
