In a car accident on Sunday, the driver of an SUV traveling with six occupants, lost control of his vehicle near Discovery Bay. The accident caused the SUV to roll down a 25-foot embankment into the water, according to California Highway Patrol.

The 25-year-old driver was killed, as well as a four-year-old and five-year-old. Two older children also in the car at the time of the accident were not seriously hurt. A 21-year old man sustained only minor injuries.

The right front passenger that survived the crash, said he believes the driver may have been traveling a bit too fast down the gravel levee road, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, causing them to go down one of the delta sloughs, said a California Highway Patrol Officer.
