Gridley Woman Killed in Car Crash

A woman was killed, on Sunday, in a fatal car accident when her vehicle went through an iron gate and overturned.

The woman, 70, was driving her Toyota eastbound at 12:45pm on Railroad Avenue when she failed to stop at a stop sign, according to California Highway Patrol.

After failing to stop, she went through the intersection, crashing through an iron gate and overturning. Her vehicle landed in the front yard of a business. The woman did have her seatbelt on but she suffered serious injuries and died at the scene, CHP said.

CHP said, there were no witnesses or passengers to the accident.
